It was December 2018 & I was just revisiting my fitness journey when I realised that my pecs still had a lean structure. As such I needed to focus on building strong pecs.
The very next day, I met Kunal & Akash & shared my concern about lean pecs.
Me: Kunal & Akash, I could see a good back & shoulders developing however my pecs still have lean built! I was wondering if we could start picking up heavy weights for pecs/chest coupled with high carb intake.
Kunal: yes bro! I think this should be right approach
Me: Yeah bro, ultimately stronger pecs helps us improve our posture, strength in back muscles & overall upper body strength
Kunal: You are right.
We started with Pushups(3 sets, 30 reps each) followed by barbell bench press(3 sets, 12, 10,8 reps with increasing weights). However, I faced initial hiccups in increasing weights & could do reps with weight of 10 kgs only.
We then proceeded with flat bench dumbbell press( 3 sets, 12, 10, 8 reps, weights-10kgs, 12.5 kgs, 15 kgs), seated machine chest press ( 3 sets, 12 reps each), incline dumbbell press(3 sets, 12 reps each), flat bench cable fly(3 sets, 12 reps each) & bench dips(3 sets, 8 reps each). I was able to do 2 sets comfortably however I found my energy levels low for the third set in each of these exercise. I was feeling drained & realized I needed to improve my diet to further strengthen my upper body structure.
Over a period of next 3 weeks, I increased my carb intake & with high energy levels was able to pick up increasing weights & I could observe a stark difference in my chest structure & shape.
Ultimately, I needed to unleash my inner warrior to achieve desired level of muscular structure
