Staying fit doesn’t necessarily requires gym

So how do we maintain our fitness? What common resources do we have at our disposal? Gyms, Health clubs, other forms of fitness classes- Zumba, Yoga, Kickboxing etc.! We live in a dream world assuming that in order to train muscles & do resistance training- either for lean build, bulking, cutting or fat loss, we need access to weights & fancy gym equipment. Some of the interactions I have come across: 

  1. “ Oh, I need to burn 150 pounds to come to an ideal BMI but I do not get time to go to the gym! I don’t know what to do”.
  2. I can only go to gym twice or thrice a week & functional training at home does not help me much!

Most fitness aspirants assume subscribing to gym is the only way to get that fit & muscular body! We at Passion for Fitness have never endorsed gyms as the only means of maintaining that health! It is one of the ways specifically for some category of fitness nerds! A larger portion of those who are hard pressed for time, seldom/less frequently go to gym. Our model has always been based on a vital branch of fitness science called calisthenics- where you use body weights to build muscles/burn fat. In addition to this, we obviate the need to go to gym by adopting resistance training using resistance band/tubes which has similar impact as created by weights.

In this global crisis & Corona Virus Pandemic, when government/ relevant authorities have instructed to close gyms, we have been facing a herculean task to figure out the ways to maintain our muscles. Besides, some me too online fitness models, having obscure knowledge about calisthenics, are proposing to maintain calorie deficit by eating less combined with functional training. Or at best, asking to buy dumbbells as a stop gap till gyms reopens! They are even ready to propagate that it is ok to lose muscle mass till the time the Pandemic situation continues!

This is so so obnoxious!
