Five employee traits you never want to adopt

A healthy & professional 9 to 5 work environment brings a huge delight for employees. You spend more time at work than at home. Having one nosy coworker  can divert you the wrong way & can also make your 9 to 5 life miserable. Here are some traits which you never wish your co-worker should have or you should adopt:

  • Takes leadership for granted: He is going to find all opportunities to get close & personal with management team. At every moment, he is trying to earn brownie points from the boss. He is a betrayer & you would have to watch your back. You want to do your work & wouldn’t care much about getting personal with leadership. He thinks that getting brownie points would help him in a spectacular pay raise & promotion.
  • Not owning responsibilities: You think group & team work is the best bet since it brings diverse ideas & perspectives. Hang on ! you have a co-worker who would poke his nose into every suggestion & idea without any intention to contribute towards the quick & qualitative close of project. When the project deadline is approaching- something happens at his home or something happens to his health. You are left doing almost everything. However when the time for appreciation & recognition, he is always up in front & center.
  • Thinks he is the boss: He thinks he rules the roost & he knows it-all. You talk to yourself! Man you have been on this assignment just few minutes ago & now you know everything about the project. He has to maintain his composure & integrity. He would be one who would keep on pointing out mistakes in other’s work & would leave no opportunity to boost how he would have handled the task differently if someone asks for his input. Everyone knows he does not stand a chance in front of your professionalism & exemplary performance.
  • He pokes into everyone: You can’t even move your feet without him knowing about it. He also has the audacity to tell someone what he thinks & knows about you. He will more often indulge in unproductive discussions about who got fired & about some secret relationship. His desire to invade your privacy can be mistaken as his deep concern about your well being. Be cautious of such people.
  • He has negative perceptions: No matter whatever exceptional you have achieved/delivered, you can always count him to bring your morale & confidence down. He is obsessed with what he doesn’t have & wants everyone to know that how much unfortunate he is. It is really impossible that he will be happy & you always want to stay away from his negative mindset. Employees cannot find a sure shot way to avoid such a corporate insect but you can make all efforts to stay away from such folks.
