• Cloud Access: Distributed & remote workforce is the way forward & there accessing data & system anywhere is a basic necessity. Finance function should have access to same data, information & system at home which they had when they were working from workplace.

• DIY Analytics Dashboards: Having key figures, data & information at the tip of a button is imperative now to have an overview of financial performance for a particular period without having manual involvement. This will help in reducing/eliminating the unnecessary burden of regular reporting.

• Streamlining workflows: It is necessary now to have documenting & auditing processes in place to streamline the process & work flows & overcome bottlenecks, thereby improving overall productivity

• Cybersecurity: Cyber attacks have been very common when it comes to financial data & information. As such Cybersecurity has become all the more important now given the fact that organisations have a distributed workforce. A CFO should strive to have tools & processes in place to protect organisation’s important data from cyber attacks.
